This seminar convened a community interested in better understanding supply-side and demand-side barriers hindering sustained access to high-quality, affordable diabetes management, especially insulin, with the aim of identifying areas ripe for innovation. The seminar featured four speakers: Dr. Veronika J. Wirtz (Associate Professor, Department of Global Health, Boston University School of Public Health), Dr. A.J. Kumar (Chief Scientific Officer, Jana Care), Alex Abramson (PhD Candidate, Langer Lab, MIT), and Dr. Amy Moran-Thomas (Assistant Professor of Anthropology, MIT). Each brought complementary perspectives to the discussion, ranging in topic from public health, to diagnostics, drug delivery, as well as socio-cultural and anthropologic factors influencing access to quality care.
