About CBI

We improve global health through collaboration.

CBI’s mission is to improve global health by overcoming obstacles to the development and implementation of biomedical innovation. CBI provides a safe and transparent environment for collaborative research between industry, academia, and government, and draws on the expertise of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Schools of Engineering and Science, and the Sloan School of Management.


CBI brings together stakeholders from across the healthcare value chain including biopharmaceutical developers, manufacturers, suppliers to the industry, patient advocacy groups, regulators, clinicians, providers, academic researchers, and payers to collaborateinnovate and educate to improve global health.


Our leadership team brings together expertise, passion, and vision to advance the state-of-the-art in biomedical innovation, biologics manufacturing, and access to medicine.


Our consortia members and collaborators are leading stakeholders from across the global healthcare value chain, from R&D, manufacturing, and delivery to reimbursement and evidence generation, who have come together to innovate for the benefit of patients.


CBI’s contributions to the biomedical innovation knowledge base include book chapters, journal articles, theses, and industry white papers.
