COLLABORATION

Biomanufacturing@MIT-CBI is home to the Biomanufacturing Consortium (BioMAN), the Consortium on Adventitious Agent Contamination in Biomanufacturing (CAACB), and BioACCESS. These pre-competitive programs provide a safe haven where industry, academia, and government collaboratively address challenges in manufacturing, delivery, and access to biologics through focused events and projects that address key challenges in biomanufacturing.

RESEARCH

Biomanufacturing@MIT-CBI research projects focus on biomanufacturing process innovation for production of biologic medicines including monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, viral vectors, and cell therapies. Our main research areas include process analytical technologies, biomanufacturing data analytics, advanced process modeling and control, and continuous manufacturing.

EDUCATION

Biomanufacturing@MIT-CBI has developed a number of biomanufacturing-related educational offerings including a residential MIT course, an on-line course on the principles of manufacturing protein and antibody drugs, and a short course on vaccine manufacturing offered jointly with University College London. We are co-developing a blended learning course for the training of cell therapy manufacturing personnel which will combine online learning with hands-on training.
